You will receive your ID cards in the mail directly from your insurance carrier within 10-14 days (about 2 weeks) from the start date of your plan. For example, if your health insurance plan start date is January 1, expect to receive a physical copy of your ID card in the mail on or around January 15th.
That said, don't let this stop you from going to the doctor or picking up prescriptions. You can obtain a temporary copy of your ID card in two ways:
1) Go directly to your insurance carrier’s website and create a member portal account.
2) Call your insurance carrier’s Customer Service department to request your ID number
