How do I offboard an employee through my employer portal?

We know that losing an employee can be a difficult time, so we want to make the process easy. When the offboarding process is started, we will ensure that the employee gets communication on their next steps as well as a COBRA notice. You can see the options that your employees receive after offboarding in our article here.

Follow the steps below in order to offboard an employee:

Important Dates: Please submit offboarding requests by the 17th to ensure you get credited for that employee's premiums for the following month. If the employee confirms cancellation of their health plan through the carrier by the 25th, we can also credit you for the premium. We cannot guarantee a refund for cancellations after the 25th.

1. Login to your employer portal and click on "Offboard an Employee".

You can also start the offboarding by going to the employee's individual page and selecting "Start offboarding".

2. Your "Offboard Employee" page will pop up for you to begin the process. Steps 1 and 2 review some important information. After you read through them, you can click "Next" to move on to the next steps.

3. On the third step, "Employee Details", you can add any employees you wish to offboard by clicking on the "+ Add Employee" button.

4. You will then be prompted to select employees, with the ability to search through your roster. Once you've checked off the boxes for any employees, you can confirm the selection.

5. After you've selected the employees to offboard, choose the date that each employee is being offboarded on (typically the last date of employment) and confirm the email addresses. Make sure their emails are correct, and a work email is not listed--this is important so we can email them a COBRA notice and keep your company compliant with regulations.

Hit "Next" when all employee information is complete.

 

6. The last step is just a quick confirmation! Review the entry one last time for accuracy and then you can confirm the offboarding request.

You will be able to see another confirmation of their offboarding on their profile after the request has been submitted.
