What is the purpose of the Health Wallet Card?

The Health Wallet Card make using your Health Wallet funds faster and easier, allowing for instant transactions without the need for reimbursement. While your card can be your primary tool for quick and convenient payments, reimbursement requests will remain available as a backup option. Whether you forget to use your HRA Account Card or need to make a purchase from a vendor not yet approved for card use, we've got you covered. It's our way of saying, "We're here to make things easier for you.”

 

How do I obtain a new Health Wallet card?

To get your new Health Wallet Card, set up your Health Wallet Account by following the prompts on your Venteur account home page. During setup, you can choose between a physical card or a virtual card.

 

Where can I use the Health Wallet card?

You can use the Health Wallet card at any IIAS approved merchant. A full list of IIAS approved merchants is available at www.sig-is.org. Vendors like FSAstore.com, HSAstore.com, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and CVS are all approved vendors. It cannot be used at doctor's offices. What expenses can be covered using the Health Wallet card?

Expenses must meet the criteria outlined in Internal Revenue Code Section 213(d) to be considered eligible for Health Wallet card transactions. Additionally, the Date of Service for each expense must fall within the same year as the funds were made available in your Health Wallet Account.

 

What happens if my card gets declined? What happens if I use the Health Wallet card at an unapproved merchant?

After the debit card is ‘swiped,’ the system verifies that adequate funds are available in your account and that the expense is from a qualified merchant. If these checks are positive, the funds are then deducted automatically from your account. If these checks are negative, the transaction is denied. If the transaction is denied, then another method of payment must be used. In such cases, use your personal payment method and submit a reimbursement request. Currently, you cannot manually add funds to your Health Wallet card. The card utilizes the balance in your Health Wallet Account.

 

Can I use the Health Wallet card for non-health-related expenses?

No, the card is exclusively for qualified medical expenses. If you use your card for a non-qualified purchase, you will be required to return the funds to your Health Wallet account. Failure to do so may result in the suspension of your Health Wallet account.

 

Are Health Wallet card transactions visible to my employer?

Health Wallet card transactions are confidential, and your employer does not have access to the specific details of your individual transactions. While transaction amounts are visible for administrative purposes, sensitive information such as what the transaction was for and where it occurred is never visible to your employer.

 

What happens to my Health Wallet Card if I leave my employer?

If you leave your current employer, you will no longer be eligible to use the Health Wallet Card for new expenses. However, any remaining funds in your Health Wallet Account can typically be used for eligible medical expenses with a Date of Service during the period of your employment. You can continue to submit reimbursement requests for these purchases up to 90 days after your date of termination.

 

Can I withdraw cash from my Health Wallet card at the ATM?

No, cash withdrawals from your Health Wallet card are not permitted.
